We never know what life will bring us, create a vision of where you want to go…
Everyday we are focused on so many important things in our lives; work, school, maintaining a home, preparing healthy meals, raising children, paying bills, trying to get in some exercise, getting enough sleep, the list goes on and on. We often feel depleted and on the verge of burnout with all the tasks (doing) we must prioritize and complete.
I learned an immensely powerful, but painful lesson when my dad, at the age of 57, died from cancer when he was months away from a much-planned early retirement. It’s like they say, “don’t put off for tomorrow what will bring you happiness today!” Or “you can’t take it with you when you go…” We never know what life will bring us, good or bad. I try not to worry about things before they happen and more importantly, things I have no control over. I make a special effort to visualize and focus on what I WANT in my life rather than what I DON’T want. The future is possibility, and the past is in the rear view mirror.
My advice it to hold onto the Big Picture and be grateful everyday for something positive in your life, no matter how small and insignificant. Dream about your future, stay curious and keep learning, push yourself to try new things, surround yourself with people that matter and lift you up. Stay present, breathe deeply, care about other people, stay positive (especially in the face of adversity) and look around this beautiful place we live!
